About The Service

The Recording Notification Service (RNS) is a FREE service to residents of Hudson County. Residents who wish to be notified any time a document is recorded against their property(ies) can sign up for this service.

With property and mortgage fraud on the rise, this notification service will help protect property owners against potential fraud and scams giving property owners the peace of mind that they need.

How It Works

The RNS system will provide an automated email alert with recording details anytime a document is recorded using the name(s), address(es), lot, block, or municipality name that have been registered for this alert service.

Please note: This alert service only applies to documents recorded after subscribing for this service.

 

To register, property owners will need their name, email address and information for the property they wish to register such as municipality, lot, and block. Residents may list up to ten properties and names per registered email address. This service will only notify the subscriber of recording events based on the enrolled name(s) or property(ies) following sign-up.

If You Receive An Alert

If you receive an automated email alert, a document has been recorded that includes a name or property information that you are monitoring. The automated email alert will provide you with the recording information pertaining to the recorded document. Notifications may go to junk mail unless emails about this service are marked “as safe mail.”

 

This free service does not constitute a liability on the part of the Hudson County Register’s Office. The Register’s Office is unable to provide information regarding the contents of the document you are being notified about. If you suspect you are a victim of document fraud, please contact local law enforcement and/or the Hudson County Office of Consumer Protection at 201-795-6250. You may also want to seek assistance from legal counsel.

To register or to update your subscription please visit the Recording Notification Service page. The staff of the Register’s Office cannot view, change, or remove subscriptions to this service.

To edit an existing subscription, unsubscribe first and re-subscribe with the updated monitoring criteria.

Opt-Out

Registered individuals can unsubscribe from this service at any time by visiting the Recording Notification Service page. The staff of the Register’s Office cannot view, change, or remove subscriptions to this service.

IMPORTANT: To receive notifications, the name(s) entered must be exact. If there are different variations of the person’s name(s) or business name(s), they should be inputted in order to receive notifications. If the business name has an LLC, that needs to be inputted as well.
